The Bird Haven Festival is being held at Shoalhaven Heads, an unspoilt, old school South Coast holiday village.
It has a laid-back charm that is perfect for a relaxing break, where you can be as active as you want to be. There are many accommodation options, from hotel units, holiday bungalows and camp sites at the caravan parks, and airbnb spaces.
Importantly, it is birdwatching heaven, with migratory shorebirds visiting every year and Australian birds of all description finding a home here for at least part of the year. The Heads is nestled between Seven Mile Beach National Park and Comerong Island Nature Reserve, and the NSW Bionet Atlas lists sightings of over 240 bird species.
This video, made by our local pub, shows you what a lovely spot it is.
